Not only do I get some great insights into how a consultancy operates, but I also get to strategize with stakeholders to put together and deliver on short- and long-term recruitment plans.

Fun Fact about me. What are you passionate about?

I love all food and cooking. Last year, I splashed out on a Kamado-style BBQ and I’ve been cooking everything in it ever since (including the Christmas turkey!).

What did you do before joining Prescient?

Prior to joining Prescient, I worked for just over nine years as a recruitment consultant across a variety of areas, with the last couple of years focused on supporting Pharma and Biotech clients.

Why did you join Prescient?

I joined Prescient because I recognized the exciting journey they are on and I knew that I could make a positive impact. Also, throughout the interview process I couldn’t believe how nice everyone was, so I couldn’t wait to join and meet my fellow colleagues properly!

What do you do on a day-to-day basis?

I work closely with stakeholders across the business and partner with them to understand their needs and requirements. It’s then my job to engage with talent to share with them what we at Prescient have to offer (which as it happens is quite a lot!).

What surprised you about Prescient?

Leading on from one of my answers above, it’s just how nice everyone is. I got a great feel for the culture throughout the interview process, and I – get to work with smart and talented individuals, who are also incredibly nice and humble.

What is the best part of your workday?

I think every recruiter is excited at the opportunity to deliver an offer that they know can impact and shape someone’s career. But what I really love now (vs. working in an agency) is that when someone accepts a job then they become a colleague and it’s just the beginning of our relationship.

What do you value about your job?

The opportunity to positively impact and shape careers by connecting individuals with Prescient, which in turn helps Prescient achieve its business goals.

What have you learned?

Having the exposure that I do to senior leadership and hiring teams has been great. Not only do I get some great insights into how a consultancy operates, but I also get to strategize with stakeholders to put together and deliver on short- and long-term recruitment plans.

What impact do you feel you are making?

Well, first and foremost, I hope I’m helping us to attract and hire top talent, but one of my key goals when I joined was to create a positive candidate experience. Searching for a new job is time-consuming and often stressful, so the fact I’ve already received feedback from joiners to say how enjoyable and slick our process was, has been really rewarding.

Describe Prescient in 3-5 adjectives.

Talented, ambitious, inclusive and specialist.

Both QC and Compliance are about protecting the company: Either protecting us from making embarrassing mistakes, or protecting us from risk.
